Are you Groaning?

When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. – Proverbs 29:2

There is a segment of people both secular and sacred, (maybe you’re one of them), who are so frustrated, so disappointed in the political and governmental atmosphere of our day, that they have completely disengaged and retreated into isolation and dissatisfied solitude. They do this despite the Bible saying, “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when a wicked man rules, the people groan” (Proverbs 29:2). Our joy and pain, whether we celebrate or groan, are directly linked to who is in authority politically. Shouldn’t we engage rather than disengage, infiltrate and influence rather than isolate and hibernate? Shouldn’t we try to do something about our situation? To do nothing is to give evil free reign. I’m groaning, but I’m not ready to give up and do nothing. My God doesn’t allow for that. Let me tell you why you shouldn’t give up either. Let me encourage you to seek God in these trying times and ask Him how He might want to use you.

God works through politics, politicians, and government and government authorities. Instead of giving up we should remember, though governments and rulers fail, God is still in control. God has a purpose in all of what takes place in this world. “Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His, and He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him” (Daniel 2:20-21). To make sense of our geopolitical world climate, recognize God’s truth, and gain understanding, I prayerfully offer you this piece of commentary to help in that regard.

Are you groaning? “Why would I, should I, be groaning? My president is doing all the right things to help Israel. Why would I groan?” The Blue Biden Administration Supports Israel? Interesting. I think we should consider that a bit more. Me, I’m groaning. I’m groaning and grieving for Israel and her recent tragic losses. And I’m groaning for what I fear is coming our way. [1]Please let me share a bit.

Before you start painting Joe Biden and this blue administration as stalwart supporters of Israel, just remember they threw in a SIX BILLION DOLLAR sweetener for a five-person prisoner swap with Iran.[2] It’s only supposed to be used by Iran for “humanitarian” purposes. Well, we know what that means to the world’s largest supporter of anti-Israel, anti-American terrorism. It means October 7th type terrorist savagery.

So, now there’s a DEBATE about freezing that money? That’s political water under the bridge, gross second guessing and blatant political expediency. Ask yourself, why is that even debatable? Why are we even contemplating, even considering, giving any assets to Iran in the first place, a nation that applauds 9/11? Yes, I’m groaning.

Such is the shortsighted diplomacy of a regularly failing administration. Here’s another move of theirs to consider. Remember how Biden cut our pipeline resources to follow his Green Deal? This was another move greatly applauded and appreciated by Iran who survives on her oil revenues. Our energy independence under President Trump brought our oil prices down and was not only good for us, but lowered oil prices worldwide putting the economies of our enemies like Iran, like Russia, on the ropes. Hamas colors are green. Yes, I’m groaning.

Don’t forget one of the first moves of Biden when he took office was to stop President Trump’s border wall. Biden swung open the gates to a flood of unknown, superficially vetted “immigrants” who just happen to be disproportionally MILITARY AGE. [3]To top it off, they were given phones[4], social services[5], and even free transportation to roam the country[6]. The Biden Administration has even threatened banks who don’t give loans to illegal immigrants.[7] That’s a great deal and great amount of free resources that could be used by wolves in sheep’s clothing sneaking into the sheep’s pen to prey on innocent citizens. I’m groaning and likely soon to be grieving for victims of the inevitable attack.

Only when red border states got smart and bold and started shipping the tsunami of MULTIPLE MILLIONS of “immigrants” to places like Martha’s Vineyard[8] and blue cities, has Biden begun to rethink and backtrack on resuming the building of the wall.[9] Only when blue mayors and blue governors and blue voter blocks began rising hypocritically to complain about the influx of “immigrants” and how it was COSTING TOO MUCH to support them, only then has Biden changed his tune and reversed more characteristic shortsighted policy. It’s funny how election promises turn to election false premises isn’t it? I only hope and pray the cost of such myopic ill-conceived “strategy” doesn’t result in our own October 7th, or another 9/11. Yes indeed, I’m groaning.

You know, come to think of it, could anyone truly be so slow and out of touch with reality that they’d conceive such shallow and contrary-to-the-country policies as the ones we’ve seen this administration commit? It’s almost as though, rather than wanting to make America great and protect its citizens, the objective is something else. I wonder if the real priority of this administration is more to fit the USA into a Great Reset global system.[10] I wonder if “Build Back Better,” to Biden, really means break up and dissolve. Maybe it’s not so much buffoonery but rather an intentional plan, a sly strategy. I grit my teeth in righteous patriotic anger and groan on.

I also wonder if the plans of the Biden administration are not driven by all the questionable profits he’s made while “serving” in politics. Even if the media refuses to report the shady “contributions” to “the Big Guy,” you have to wonder if such risky decisions are not propelled by unseen sources who not only don’t care about the United States but HATE the United States.[11] Groan on America.

Yes, you must wonder, and that’s why we need true political patriots to call Biden and his bedfellows to account. We need a Speaker of the House to investigate and bring to justice any treachery and at the very least clarify if there was any. We can’t depend on propaganda; we need facts and truth to address and deal with the enemies within our gates. We need to stop groaning and get to work.

All we see now and throughout these years of mind-boggling sleepy missteps, is pandering to political constituencies. You see, we are not only a laughingstock internationally because of a president’s falls and failures, his absences and inability to even walk off stage, but we are literally at risk, in danger. I pray with all my heart every day for God’s protection. Hamas has already stated Israel is only the beginning. Hamas’ founding member and leader Khalid Mashal has called for a “global Jihad” for Friday the 13th of October 2023.[12] I groan, “O Lord, have mercy on us! (Though we don’t deserve it!).”

The true colors of the Biden Administration are going to be exposed. Let’s see how long the support lasts as Israel lays the hammer down on the human horror show that is Hamas and the photo ops turn national and world public opinion against Israel, and us.[13] Let’s see if our pain and suffering goes beyond mere skyrocketing inflation and an ever-rising cost of living. Let’s see if we will continue to groan as the state and government continues to attempt to steal our children through the sickeningly immoral public school system and indoctrinating colleges and universities. Let’s see if our enemies, aided and abetted knowingly or unknowingly by a sleepy political strategy, inflict pain and suffering with an actual terror attack or attacks within our own borders. Let’s see if the suffering of children will not only be limited to in the womb, but spreads to our streets and schools and playgrounds. Let’s see. There’s a lot to groan about.

Know this, the October 7th attack did not aim primarily at military targets, no, they terribly and tragically, heartlessly, targeted the elderly, families, mothers, children, their babies, non-military INNOCENT PEOPLE.[14] It was a truly demonic attack. Let’s see if our country’s defenses, in their weakened state and high heeled leadership can protect us from terror in our own backyards. I’ll tell you, one good thing that’s come from the evil is an appreciation for our Second Amendment rights. Aren’t you glad for such protections now? I dare say, maybe there really is a purpose for assault rifles. Maybe there really is justification for their protection in this age of rampaging and terror. The Second Amendment was to assure the citizenry’s protection from its government. Now we will likely need it to protect ourselves from our enemies despite our government!

Until October 7th terror, it seemed, was on hiatus. We no longer think that. The gruesome photos, Tik Tok videos and news reports of the carnage, the screams of horror for help, and the weeping loved ones mourning their slain, that has opened our eyes. We know better now. (At least I hope we do.) There really is EVIL in this world, no matter how much or how persistently ivory tower out-of-touch-with-reality liberals or atheists or their ilk try to poo-poo the evil away.

In the book of Esther, the only book of the Bible that doesn’t mention “God,” it speaks of a heroine put in a position to save her people. Those people were threatened by genocide. Those people were the Jews. The Jews historically are not unfamiliar with genocide. Inquisitions and holocausts have prepared them for that. And if they experience a respite and are tempted to think peace is being given a chance, Shalom, well, an October 7th slaps them back to reality. But the holy day of Purim is a day that calls to remembrance how God delivered His people from that genocidal threat. In the end, God will always protect Israel and the Jewish people.

In the book of Esther are words applicable throughout history for such times as we are living in now. In Esther, her family source of knowledge wisdom and courage was a man named Mordecai. Mordecai, when she was wavering in God’s elect plan for her, advised her (and advises us) with these words:

Esther 4:14 “For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

“Yet who knows”? Who knows if Joe Biden is the leader for our nation for such a time as this? That’s an easy one to answer I think. You know from my words that his place in history and our nation is a misplaced one. The only reason I can see for him being in a presidential position is first that God has allowed it. That’s more of an indictment on us as a nation because God gives us what we deserve (Galatians 6:7-9). That’s a sobering thought isn’t it? It should move us to repent. And for those who actually did vote for this sleepy man, would you do so again if given the chance? I hope you come to your senses.

Yes, not everyone is suited for “such a time as this.” But Biden is still here, by hook or by crook, by a shady election or stuffed ballot boxes, he’s here and God has allowed it. We need to really pray for this man. Pray too that God protects us from further damage. Pray for the next election. Pray when the opportunity presents itself, that people vote for and support candidates that are not bought and paid for, who don’t see themselves as “politicians.” We need to pray for and support candidates who see themselves as called to be patriots who are first and foremost “under God.” Pray for candidates who really do put America first, whose record proves that true. Pray for candidates who really do want to make America great again. Look for an Esther.

You can tell a lot about someone from their enemies. Look at those most persecuted by the establishment of uni-party politicians, pawn media propagandists, and attacking attorneys. Look at a person’s opposition and you’ll have a good idea of who to vote for. Just remember too, that sometimes the person needed to clean up a mess and do the dirty work is not polite or discreet. Sometimes, most times, those need are not a beautiful courageous Esther, but a Caleb or a Jehu, or a John the Baptist, someone suited for the job, but not necessarily someone you’d invite to your Thanksgiving dinner. They might be an Esther, a godly courageous and strong woman. That would be a heaven-sent blessing. But they might also have graying red hair and a knack for trumping their opponents in the most hammering way. They might have a business background and have actually worked a real job. They might not be career politicians. They should know how the system works because they’ve lived through it. They might be aware of the two-tiered injustice system our nation has degenerated into, but bold as a lion and willing to sacrifice to bring change. They are people who have a steely determination and willingness to sacrifice to make things better, even great. Look for someone devoted to and willing to take on the mission for the good of America. They might be a little too proud and have a tad too much narcissism in them, but God is able to work through flawed people who have a desire to help. “Flawed” is almost a prerequisite for being used by God. Yes, His power is perfected in our weaknesses. I know that personally. I think most Christians do. But I’ll let you figure out who I’d vote for.

More importantly, we need to personalize what Mordecai said to Esther. “Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” Who knows if you might be the one to take a stand, speak up, step in to protect someone, save someone, support someone? Who knows if you’re the one to write something, radio something, video something to oppose evil? Who knows how the Lord might use you, use me, use us? Who knows? Only God knows.

Yes, “God” isn’t mentioned in the book of Esther, but He is on every page, in every paragraph, in every line and word and punctuation mark, He is there. On October 7th, it didn’t seem like GOD was there. You, and I and Israel, and a lot of people might have asked, and are still asking, “Where were You Lord? Where are You Lord?” And the answer is between the lines and overseeing the scene and working out His ultimate redemptive plans. God is always there. That’s a comforting thought, or at least should be. God is in the corridors of the Knesset. God is there in the White House. He’s there in the White House and Knesset, and halls of governments even when those in such high places don’t know Him or care to consult Him. GOD is always “there.” God is “here.” And He will make His will known.

God grieves and groans right along with us as He works out what are His terribly costly plans. Even during evil tragedies we must remember God loves us and sent His only Son to die for us (Romans 5:8). God and His Son Jesus are not unacquainted with grief (Isaiah 53). Jesus is, “a Man of sorrows acquainted with grief.” He knows that His waiting will cause and allow carnage, suffering, groaning in grief. But it’s for His higher purpose and our benefit. God’s priorities are redemptive, eternal. His priority is for us to spend eternity with Him, even if the cost is great. He isn’t absent. He isn’t out of touch. He is waiting. “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9).

Only God is in a position to wait out for our redemption even if it means evil and the devil run rough shod over us as we wait. God alone is able to command that, to oversee that. It’s baffling for us, but we trust the Holy One to work out a blessing for us, and glory for Him, in the end. Though you might not feel like it now, in the end, when and if you have experienced God’s saving grace through faith in Jesus, when you are standing in His presence, you will be thankful and worship and join in the heavenly chorus singing, “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom, thanksgiving and honor and power and might, be to our God forever and ever. Amen” (Revelation 7:12).

My grieving Jewish friend, my brother and sister countrymen of Israel, you have my support and prayers and if I wasn’t so old and decrepit I’d be there with you. The only reason I don’t run to your aid is I don’t want to get in your way. I don’t want to slow you down, so instead, I will offer up prayers to carry you forward. You have work, a just recompensing work and mission to do. Know Jesus and His gospel is for ALL PEOPLE, “to the Jew first and also for the Greek” (Romans 1:16). “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). “Behold, He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep” (Psalm 121:4). You know that. Remember he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you. . . The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” (Hebrews 13:5-6; Psalm 27:1; 118:6). Know God is with you. Know:

Psalms 34:4-9 – I sought the LORD, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears. They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces were not ashamed. This poor man cried out, and the LORD heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them. Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him! Oh, fear the LORD, you His saints! There is no want to those who fear Him.

My fellow patriots and brothers and sisters in Christ, do not fear. GOD hasn’t given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Trust in Jesus. Remember what He said:

John 10:10 – “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

There are thieves in our camp with eyes and ambitions to steal, kill, destroy. But Jesus can easily overcome that. The best, His abundant LIFE, is yet to come. Seek Him. Serve Him. Ask Him how He might use you to protect us from the thieves, killers, and destroyers. The gospel is powerful. Don’t be ashamed of it. It’s powerful enough to change terrorist Sauls into Apostle Pauls. Remember that. “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek” (Romans 1:16). Remember that, remember that, and groan no more. Instead ask, “Lord, how can I be of use to You, for such a time as this?”
