Shepherd of Hope Statement of Beliefs:

The Shepherd of Hope blog site holds to the following beliefs: The Bible is the only inspired, infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God (66 books – 39 OT; 27 NT).

God is one, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son Jesus Christ, and Holy Spirit.

The deity of Jesus Christ; His virgin birth; His sinless life; His miracles; His vicarious atoning death; His resurrection; His ascension to the right hand of the Father; His Lordship; His personal return to Rapture His saints from Tribulation and at the 2nd Coming in power and glory to the earth to set up His Kingdom.

Salvation is an absolute necessity because of the exceeding sinfulness of humanity. Sin separates humanity from God Who is Holy. God the Sovereign Righteous Judge condemns those who persist in their sin. The consequence of sin is death; the eternal destiny of separation from God. God’s great grace and love offers a way of Salvation. Salvation is legal justification before God, spiritual regeneration, it is knowing God in an eternal personal saving relationship. Salvation can only be received as a gift by God’s grace through faith alone in Christ alone. The faith that saves by nature involves repentance.

The Church is composed of those who have been born again spiritually; believers united by faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

The present ministry of the Holy Spirit in salvation and sanctification Whose guidance, gifting and empowerment enables the Christian to live a godly life pleasing to God.
