Harold & Shep
Shep is the founder of "Shepherd of Hope Christian Chat & Chronic Illness Support" Ministry.  Married 12 years with 7 children between us, 6 daughters and 1 son.  Additionally, we have 17+ grandchildren.  Shep is the family computer geek and enjoys designing websites and newsletters. Harold was building solid-surface counter tops, commercial desks, ticket counters, etc., until he was laid off in September 2008.  He's currently completing courses to do HVAC/R (heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration). We live  in Michigan, but hope to move to a warmer climate if the Lord opens the door for that in the future.

Ann Van
I am 53, married, and have one son who is 21. I enjoy singing with my  husband while he plays guitar, writing, watching movies, and various activities at my church. One of these is a support group I started 2 years ago for the chronically ill, which is still going strong. I  like to make greeting cards as well.

The handsome man next to me is my husband, Sam. We have been married 24 years.

Carol_K
My name is Carol Krejci, mother of three terrific sons and a precious daughter, 14 grandkids and 1 1/2  great-grandkids.  I'm a retired RN, but am jumping back into nursing in order to support myself when I return to San Diego, Ca. later this year.  I am planning to move there in August in order to finish writing a book titled The Bracelet with my friend Julie, and also to work on two other books.. Expect the Harvest and another tentatively titled "Israel From a Different Point of View...Analogies with Applications."   I love to read, sing, scrapbook, decorate cakes and eat chocolate. In addition, I have recently become addicted to Shepherd of Hope Ministries.  My goal in these latter days is to honor the Lord by my life and in my writing in gratitude for all He has done for me.

Beth & Bob Cottrill
live in rural Saskatchewan, Canada. We spent many years in pastoral ministry here and in Ontario, and Bob also taught in a Bible college. We have one son, who, along with his wife and two young kids live in Mexico City, beginning a church planting ministry there. I'm involved in music and enjoy encouraging women. I also love making cards and scrap booking. I'm excited about a new ministry of writing devotionals for Rest Ministries and have been blessed in Shep's chat room many times. I'm also very fond of animals and miss having a dog in our home.

Butch
I know you are wondering how I got on here.... after all, I am a dog... but I am not just any dog, I know the co-founders, so they let me slide this photo in here.... besides, I am the one who keeps my mom company while she talks on the computer all day!  Not that I am complaining - she tells me every time one of you thinks I am cute!  So, keep the compliments coming...
I was born in January 2005 and I had a LOT of siblings -- I think there were 14 of us all together! I also have chronic illness - am allergic to lots of stuff - especially my mom's house. I love the water, I am trying to become a famous dock jumping dog, and I love going for walks with my dad.  I wish I had some children to play with, so I get very happy when my 'human' sisters come to visit me at mom's house.

I was adopted to a new home in Summer 2008 and am very happy now because my allergies are under control.  I go swimming with my new daddy, Steve, and we hike and do all sorts of fun stuff together -- my mom still sees me on occasion, but I am doing really well and we are all very happy with the new arrangements!

Lukla
I’m 33 and live in the UK.  I love climbing, kite buggying, surfing and, well, any sport that is high risk.  I am a support worker for adults with learning disabilities; I love my job so much I couldn't do anything else. This picture was taken in Nepal the day I arrived and was the day I lived my dream to trek to Everest Base Camp.

Lynn
I live in lush green Washington state. I began my teaching career here in 1965 and retired in 1992. Most of those years were in the elementary classroom but I also spent two years in Washington, D.C. with the VISTA program and two years at Seattle’s PBS station co-writing and producing series of educational programming.  Since retirement I have been able to travel a bit with my favorite place being the home of C. S. Lewis in Oxford, England. I lived there for one week as part of a study group. I am on a writing team of Rest Ministries.  I am currently writing a devotional book, words of encouragement for those living with chronic illness.  This effort will be accomplished via god's direction and grace!

Baggzy

My proper name is Elsa, I am a 43 year old single mother of a beautiful daughter who is now 17.  My  daughter is studying social care in college. She's either out with her friends, at the gym or swimming. She does occasionally spend time with me.  We live together with our two cats, Bracken and Tinkerbell, in Perth in bonny Scotland in our little God-given house.  I love being in the garden,  listening to music, have an eclectic taste in films, like drawing and trying to paint although haven't done so for a while. I need to get back to it!

I also love watching rugby and "shinty" -- a rough, rough, Scottish  game..  I am quite a 'mad' person as people say I have a weird sense of humor - (goes with the rest of me).

Alice & Dan
live in Dayton, OH.  We have 6 children between us, 14 grandchildren, and 1 great-granddaughter.  Alice facilitates a Hope Keepers group, and Dan is her co-facilitator.  Alice is blessed to be able to be a wife and homemaker and enjoys reading Christian fiction as well as using chat from time to time to talk with others on-line.  Dan is an engineer, and Vice President of Dayton Gear Company.  Our greatest joy has been serving the Lord together for the past 18 years.

Quiteme53

I love the Lord  and just love working in his fields as he asks me to do. I loved working as a carpenter & jointer in the past and now helping and serving the community with an emergency
service organization that helps with storm damage.  I so love working for God in his fields. I love belonging to the local Baptist church.  I am learning to sew and I like reading and  listening to music; ohhhh, I love my music. Thanks Shepherd of Hope - I so love and truly appreciate the wonderful
website and thank Shep for having it for us all.

Mal
Hello all! My name is Mallory. I'm 19 not married and haven't even dated yet. I'm holding out for that man God intends for me to meet. I have faith that one day He will bring us together. I write letters to my future husband. I think one day he will really appreciate them and I'd love to look back and read them when I'm an older woman. I love art and photography. I'm going to college for fine arts/studio arts. I feel that I can express my self through art and painting. I hope that as people look at my art and photos they will feel the love of Jesus and know that this art was inspired by his love, suffering, and forgiveness for me. He was beautifully broken for me, and I thank Him for it.  Everyday I strive to grow closer to my Father, and that's what I hope for as I spend time on this site.

Catherine
Hi, my name is Catherine and I live in a beautiful spot in southwest Montana called Sheridan.  I have 2 grown children, a son who is married and has 4
children and a daughter who is single.  I am semi retired.  I work part time and enjoy writing and my new found love photography.  I collect dolls and stuffed critters of all kinds. The Lord has given me a heart is to minister to hurting women. I love doing that most of all!

Jenn
Hi, My Name is Jennifer. I am 28 and I live in TX, but most people call me Jenn! I am not married and I don't have any kids! Jesus right now and forever will be my true love, and I love to spend my time doing things for Him! I am a Christian writer but I have always said, I am just the writer. The Lord is the Poet! He gives me the words I just write them down! "His words, My hand" I also love drawing Christian artwork and reading the word of God. I give God all the Glory for everything that has happened in my life and for everything that He has brought me through and everything He is bringing me through now! Without Him I would have never made it! "For the Joy of the Lord is my Strength". I Love being there for others and praying for others who need prayer! I believe we all have a calling in life, but I believe we all have one calling that is the same and that is to be there for one another, and to love one another! I am addicted to Jesus 100%. I love my family very much and know one day they will be walking with the Lord as well! I just Praise the Lord daily that my healing is on its way!

Chris
Grace & I have been married for 9 years. We enjoy music very much and I sing in a semi-professional men’s choir for the last 11 years. Shepherd of Hope family means a lot to me and I really appreciate the times when we are able to chat and encourage one another in the things of God! This past year has been a year filled with many challenges but through it all God has been showing us that we need to trust Him through the good times as well as the challenging times. Proverbs 3: 5-6. Blessings to you all!

Free2BMee
My name is Shelby, or "Free", and I currently reside in Canton, Ohio.  While I am not married and have no children of my own, I am the godmother of two precious little boys, Elijah and Isaiah.  I also have four dogs (Molly, Buddy, Rusty, & Lucy) and two cats (Midnight & Mischief).  I am currently in college studying as an Intervention Specialist major (Special Education).  I am a Kindergarten / First Grade Sunday school teacher for my Church.  I am also part of a trio called New Generation, so music is one of my passions, from singing to playing an instrument.  As well, I am in the process of writing a book giving a testimony of God's goodness and mercy with all that He has brought me through.  Everything I do is to serve and glorify Him for all the blessings He has given me and the ones He will grant me as my future goes on!

Hairstylist
I have been married to my
hubby for 45 years and live in the small town of Cowpens SC. In our
household we live with our 2 adopted children ages 13 and 17 our 16 year old Dalmatian and a spoiled black cat "Oreo" who helps me chat with ya'll on Shepherd of Hope.  We live on a farm and raise cows, pigs, chickens, and horses, along with a couple of liters of "barn cats". We love the Lord with all our heart and try to put Him first in our lives. We are active in our local Baptist church. Our kids are going full time at sports and rodeo, which keeps us very busy.
I thank God everyday for Shepherd of Hope and the friends I have made there and you are
in my heart in prayer daily.  Ya'll have been such a blessing in my life.

ThereIsHope
Saturday, January 16, 2010 ThereIsHope went to be with the Lord.  She was 40 years old, a wife, and mother of four boys.  She has touched the hearts and lives of so many here at Shepherd of Hope and we will miss her dearly. ThereIsHope (Hope) was a co-moderator in the chat room since it began 2 years ago.

"This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope. Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. "The Lord is my portion," says my soul, "Therefore I hope in Him!" The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, To the soul who seeks Him. Lam. 3:21-25

Hope. What a powerful word. Hope is what sustains me daily. Hope to see my Savior. Hope to see my children grow up happy and healthy. Hope to find a balance for my mood as I am bipolar. I could go on and on, but I am sure you get the point. If I have no hope, then I have nothing at all."

Rest is peace, dear sister - I look forward to meeting on the other side where there will be no more sorrow, no more illness, no more pain.  I love you... Shep

Yorkie
Friday, June 11, 2010, Yorkie went to be with the Lord.  She was just 39 years old, but battled years of illness following a gymastics accident that damaged her brainstem.  She has been a long time user of Shepherd of Hope Christian Chat and never complained -- just encouraged others and prayed for everyone.

She loved her 4 dogs (a yorkie of course) and a cat and her baby 'catie' was even allowed to stay in the hospital with her as she spent so much time there.  Her kind heart and joyful and humorous personality will forever be remembered.

I first met Yorkie 2 years ago, and got to know her, her mom, Katie, and her doggies.  It was a true privilege to spend time with her on several occasions and to represent Shepherd of Hope at her funeral on June 15, 2010.

Rest in Peace, dear and sweet, sweet little sister!  Until then...
